The damages in environment should be a wake up call for all of us.
We should redesign the way we live and take steps towards better ways of
living. I believe that in these last centuries, there
are important aspects in human life that we abandoned while pursuing the
advancement in
technologies and the wonder of science. We forgot the spiritual aspect of
being a human. This is an aspect that cannot be separated from human as
it is part of our brilliant minds and us. We have evolved into an intelligent
race but no longer wise.
|
|
Sustainability as a new approach in the economic activity is not merely a
new consideration. It should be used the blue print for our present and
future, the new soul and spirit for our economic activities now and the
future. We cannot claim any success if our economic activity produces
big profit and on the other hand this activity will damage our environment
further.
|
|
Sustainability is about how we redefine ourselves. No other creatures
create nature damages, except us. We live in a circle of production and
consumption that grew bigger, faster and uncontrollably, forgetting that
nature is limited. We can save if we collaborate, competition
waste resources. Nature teaches us 3 important things we can’t ignore :
Life, Balance, Limit. Natures works in simply way, if we give positives we
will receive the same. Design is amazingknowledge but dangerous as well.
Use only 10% to design products, use 90% rest to improve nature.

About
Trained as an industrial designer at Design Academy Eindhoven, living on his own
minimalisticly rebuilt 1901 cargo ship in Groningen and riding his hand built fixed
gear bike everywhere life is good, Han is the materialisation of the love for amazing design.
|
|
Han gets inspired
'I dream it, I make it', is a motto that perfectly suits Han's way of working. Industrial
processes, material characteristics and random hunches keep Han being inspired to
design new products on a daily basis.
Whether he rides his bike in the city or roams a lake on a sailing boat, ideas for
new products keep flowing into his little square sketchbooks at jet-stream speed.
|
|
Han finds the essence
A good idea is a good idea, but a good idea is not enough for Han. As an experienced
industrial designer, he's capable of finding the essence of a good idea and transforming
it into a clear, well detailed, contemporary product based on a strong concept.
|
|
Han is industrial
Despite the fact he doesn't design for big companies because he loves to design on the
fly, Han is an industrial designer pur sang. 'Industrial design' to Han doesn't mean 'designing
products to be made in distant factories in developing countries', it rather means 'designing
in a process-oriented manner'.Every product he designs simultaneously is a design for a
production process and therefore fully reproducible.
|
|
Han is in full control
Because he produces all his designs himself, Han can guarantee you a 100% quality product
made out of first class materials. He's independent and versatile; he doesn't have a workshop
of his own, but cleverly uses a vast network of places that offer him the specific workspace
he needs for a project. Han's work stands for tailor-made industrial quality, from sketch to
boxed product.
|
|
It's the love for design that drives Han, like it's the love for good food that drives the chef.
You canstick with macaroni cheese forever, but boy, you miss out on much better stuff then! |
